UN JOUR DE BLUES A BAMAKO
Pierre DURAND : guitar
Joce MIENNIEL : flute
Mamani KEITA : voix
Badjé MAKAN TOUNKARA : ngoni
Amadou DAOU : gourds
Benjamin FLAMENT : percussions

Symbolically, the six creators of this intercontinental project chose to congregate and play under a stylized “palaver tree” that epitomizes the clash between modernity and tradition in 21st century Mali. Breaking with the stereotype of the old African continent, these blues and Mandingo improvisations are a paean to Bamako’s electric musical scene. The result, light-years away from the traditional image of African music, takes us on a stunning journey.
