Paris Jazz Festival Editorial

The Paris Jazz Festival launches this 24th edition with a new proposition. As usual, each of the 7 weekends of the 2017 Fest will whisk you away to a specific geographic or stylistic world (Africa, the sounds of the diaspora, the world of beats with legendary supergroup Magma, the human voice with Raul Midon and Lisa Simone, the blues heritage…) while bringing to light the impact of French culture on the planet.

We will celebrate in turn the strong ties that link jazz to the French pop repertoire (Olivier Ker Ourio and Sylvain Luc’s new program, French Songs; a moving tribute to French rock icon Alain Bashung…), explore the bonds that tie Africa and the West Indies to the Afro-American music art (the Delgrès ensemble from Guadeloupe, African Amazons…), discover the kinship between the art of improvisation and French Baroque music, travel through the musicality of the French language, before concluding on a stratospheric note with Franco-Swiss trumpet wizard Erik Truffaz.

A great PJF 2017 to all, and a great Musical Summer at Parc Floral.
